**Here, I am throwing my minatures off a mound of clay. I simply position the clay into the center of the wheel and shape the pot as the wheel spins. When removing the miniature pot, I am careful not to cut its bottom.

Old craft comes to life in Elisa's booth.  Pottery is one of the oldest crafts known to man.  Pottery begins with clay gathered from a local creek bed or swamp.  The clay is then modeled by hand on a pottery wheel.  The wheel is the single most important advance in early Pottery technology.  It allows the harness of kinetic energy to spin a pot into perfection.  As important as the wheel is, it is the potter's steady hand which brings the pot to life.
